Do I need to have experience lifting to train with you?
Nope! I’m happy to meet you wherever you’re at on your journey with strength training, even (or especially!) if that is at the very beginning.
What equipment do I need to follow my strength training program outside of our sessions?
Access to a gym with free weights and benches is super useful, but certainly not necessary. You can continue your program at home as long as you have either adjustable dumbbells or a few pairs of varied weights (a bench is also useful but not crucial). I’m happy to share tips on how to score more affordable gear if you’re curious!
What should I bring with me to a training session?
Comfortable clothing that moves with your body, a water bottle, and gym shoes (you can lift without shoes at your own risk if that is preferred). I also recommend either a phone or notepad to track your lifts.
Do you provide free consultations?
I sure do! Email me at wendy@bulk-goods.com to set one up. They can be in person or over the phone/virtual. We’ll discuss your history, goals, and programming dreams!
How do I schedule a session with you?
Email me at wendy@bulk-goods.com to set up a free consultation. Once we decide to move forward, I’ll send you my availability calendar and you can schedule sessions directly from there!
How often should I schedule training sessions with you?
This will depend on your experience level, your goals, and your schedule/budget. Beginners would benefit from at least one session per week to ensure safety and proper form, but there are no hard rules! We can discuss program plans in detail at your consultation.
Where are you located?
Bulk Goods is located in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago. I’ll provide an address once your session is booked.
Do you provide virtual sessions?
Yes! It will require you to own some home equipment like adjustable dumbbells or a few pairs of varied weights. A bench is also useful but not necessary.
I don’t wanna strength train! I’m more interested in cardio, mobility work, calisthenics, etc.
No prob. I’m certified to program and coach for those, too. They just aren’t where my passion lies – I’m a meathead barbell bro at heart! ; )
Do you offer nutritionist services or coaching?
Nope – I’m not certified as a nutritionist or dietician. I love chatting about recipes and food though! I’m also happy to share resources and discuss basic recommendations because yes, you probably do need to up your protein!
Is your space wheelchair accessible/ADA-compliant?
Unfortunately no – currently the entrance is only accessible via a flight of stairs. If my space doesn’t align with what works for your body, let’s talk and we’ll find a solution!
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel a session, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise you’ll still be charged. If >24 hours notice is given, you may reschedule your session for another time.
Can I still come train with you if I’m sick?
Please don’t! If you need to reschedule your appointment, you can do so anytime up to 24 hours in advance without being charged. If you’re feeling well enough to lift but are still contagious/symptomatic, there is also an option to swap your irl appointment for a virtual one.
